In this article, we explain how to add a custom description to Your Content Library. You can add your descriptions to Destination, Accommodation, and Activity items. They can be managed from one place if you want to add or update them. You can also add them while building itineraries we have a separate article on this.
You can have your custom descriptions for:
- A: Custom items you created
- B: Alternative for a SafariOffice database item
You can add custom content:
- Directly to Your Content Library (see below) OR
- While you create itineraries using the SafariOffice builder. (read this article)
Adding content directly to the Content Library
- Go to Your Content Library
- Choose the section you want to add a description item to Destination, Accommodation, or Activity
- Then click Add New Content at the right top of the table.

Adding Destination Content
After clicking Add New Content in the Destination Section follow these steps to add descriptions.
Select or Add a Destination:
- Type the name of the destination you want to add content for.
- If the destination exists in the database, select it from the list.
- If the destination is not in the database, add it as a custom destination by simply typing the name and clicking Create New Entry.
Proceed to Add Content:
- Click the "Next Add Content" button.
- This will open the content detail screen.
- Add Descriptions:
- After entering the content, be sure to click the "Save Description" button to save your changes.
- If you have the multi-language Add-on, add translations directly in the respective language fields.
Adding Accommodation Content
After clicking Add New Content in the Accommodation Section follow these steps to add descriptions.
Select or Add an Accommodation:
- Type the name of the accommodation you want to add content for.
- If the accommodation exists in the database, select it from the list.
- If the accommodation is not in the database, add it as a custom accommodation by simply typing the name and clicking Create New Entry.
Specify the Location if you add a custom entry:
- The system will prompt you to select the country where the accommodation is located.
- After selecting the country, choose a specific destination within that country.
- This helps auto-populate fields when creating itineraries.
If the accommodation doesn't need to be linked to a specific destination (e.g., for general entries like "budget camping"), you can leave the country and destination fields empty.
Proceed to Add Content:
- Click the "Next Add Content" button.
- This will open the content detail screen.
- Add Descriptions in the text field.
- After entering the content, be sure to click the "Save Description" button to save your changes.
- If you have the multi-language Add-on, add translations directly in the respective language fields.
Adding Activity Content
Select or Add an Activity:
- Type the name of the activity you want to add content for.
- If the activity exists in the database, select it from the list.
- If the activity is not in the database, add it as a custom activity by simply typing the name and clicking Create New Entry.
Important Note on Destination Selection: If you want the activity description to be universally available (loadable with any destination), do not select a country or destination
If you do want the activity to be linked to a specific location only:
- Select the country where the activity takes place.
- After selecting the country, choose the specific destination
- When this option is selected, the content description for this activity will only be displayed when combined with this exact destination (e.g., a specific trail hike).
Proceed to Add Content:
- Click the "Next Add Content" button.
- This will open the content detail screen.
- Add Descriptions:
- After entering the content, be sure to click the "Save Description" button to save your changes.
- If you have the multi-language Add-on, add translations directly in the respective language fields.
